The story started in 2012 when I got into a serious accident. My father was doing a job in Multan, and I was living with my family in Muzaffargarh. In short, a friend of my father helped me a lot and took me to Multan Nishtar Hospital immediately.
I lost my two years because of a little mistake of a nurse. She said that I was fine, nothing happened to my leg, but the bone of my leg was broken. I was in pain for seven days until my mother found that my leg was swelling. She talked to my father, and they immediately shared this with the doctor, and he said we needed to operate on his leg, or he would lose it.
Beginning of my Story
I still remember the day of the 2012 world cup when I was looking at the stars in the sky and thinking about my future that what I would do in this condition. After four months, I tried to talk slowly, and after some time, I could walk fully, but the doctor said I could not join the school for at least a year. My father asked me to join my uncle’s shop and start working as a tailor until the doctor allowed me to go to school.
I learned and worked for two years as a tailor when I was barely 12 or 13 years old. After two years, I told my father that I wanted to start my study now, and he said ok. So I joined and completed my primary school education.
My Motivation
My elder brother is disabled, and he is my motivation. Even though he is disabled, he never stopped trying things. In the beginning, he went out with his friends and went to the computer scrape shop to buy CD rooms, Hard disks, and other computer parts and try to repair them. Now he is running the mobile shop that he scaled from 5 thousand to 80 thousand PKR.
One day I asked him to tell me what I should do in my life. He smiled and replied, “Hamza do what you like to do, don’t listen to me or anyone else.” I always liked coding when I was a kid because I thought I could become a hacker by learning these things.
A Friend
When I was in 9th class, one of my class fellow friends said that one guy was teaching programming and hacking. You can join if you want. I said yes. After learning for two months, nobody came for the lecture one day, and my teacher just me frankly, “so what are you doing right now”?
My answer was, my elder brother is disabled, my father is retired from Wapda, living in a rented house, and I’m trying to find a way to help my family. I was crying inside but never showed him.
Student to First Employee
He asked me to join his new office, and I said ok. That time he started the office with me. I was his first employee to join his office. I worked for 4 to 5 months for free, or you can say I did an internship.
I remembered in Feb 2019, I got my first salary, and it was 8 thousand PKR. I was very happy. I worked with him and also did my studies. I left programming and started learning SEO.
Life is Not Easy
In April 2019, I got into college and chose FSC to study. My life became so hard, and I was playing with time. I remember that I used 7 to 8 alarms in a day to remind myself what I had to do now. I continued like this:
- Wake up at 7:30
- To college between 8 to 8:15 AM
- Come back home before 1 PM
- Go to Office before 2 PM
- Then go to Academy After 6 PM
- Do study for 3 hours
- Come back home, eat dinner
- Learning something new
- Bidding on Fiverr
- Go to sleep exactly at 1
- And then repeat
I heard a lot that I’m not the one who is doing multiple things in my daily life, but I know how hard it was for me to manage it. I could not give time to my family.
Everyone Will Stop You
One day, I was sleeping in college because I thought the teacher had not arrived yet, he was watching me but said nothing. I woke up when the bell rang for the next lecture. He said come to my office. I got there, and he asked me if everything was alright. I said that I’m facing a hard time and explained to him my routine, and he was shocked.
First of all, he said online work is fake. Second, you are risking your future for a salary of 12 thousand PKR?. I said, sir, I’m not doing it for money. I’m doing it because this is what I can do, and I love it. And it’s true.
The same happened in my academy. One of my friends said that sir “Hamza is doing a job that’s why he is unable to take the test.” There were three teachers in that room, and they said, you are going to fail in life. You cannot do anything like this. I smiled and started studying. Now let me tell you something.
Out of 3 teachers, two of them contacted me in July 2021 and said, “Hamza can you teach us Freelancing”? I was like, of course, sir, Welcome. Let me know how I can help you. I told them about Digiskills and sir Hisham Sarwar, and they started learning. Last week I got a message from a teacher that he is earning 30 to 50 thousand PKR that he never earned from teaching.
You May Think to Leave
Now comes to the last part. The story starts with a Panic attack. On March 26, 2021, I was doing some work in the office where I was doing a job, and suddenly, at about 6 PM, I felt a shortness of Breath. I thought it was normal, but I got serious, and that whole night I was in the hospital.
The main reason for the panic attack was my father was doing a job in Iraq. I was doing a job of 25K and thinking about my future, how I would survive in 25 PKR, how can I support my family, etc. These are some of the reasons that cause the problem.
After hearing about my condition, my father immediately came back to Pakistan and gave me some hope. After that, I thought I had to leave the digital field because I never got much success in freelancing. But one quote from the Quran pushed me so hard that I thought I would not leave.
Allah Tumhe Yahan Tak Isliye Nahi Laya, Taake Tum Mayus Ho Kar Himmat Haar Jao. Yakeen Rakho Wo Har Chiz Par Qadeer Hain..🙂
After some days, Ramzan Shareef started. So I told my boss that I would work from home and come to the office after Eid. I was doing office work from 10 AM to 3 PM, and after that, I was doing other activities and learning new things, reading articles, watching videos related to my skills. A miracle happens after praying five times a day, praying to Allah for naseeb, and easy rozi.
Conclusion: The Fruit of Patience Is Sweet
After struggling a lot, In June 2021, I got a few clients from Facebook, and till now, I’m working with them and earning Alhamdulillah much better by working five days a week only. Now I can give time to my family, enjoy my social life, and do many things.
