My name is Abdul Mateen. I would like to share my success story with you, a success that didn’t come easy. My journey has not been all pleasant, but it’s led me to where I am today. Everybody wants to become successful in life; success is nothing but a strong belief. A believe that you can touch the sky and know yourself that yes you can. Yes, if you are destined for something great with a strong belief you can win success with that belief.
I am Abdul Mateen from Gulpur, a small village in the Cholistan area where the residents make a living by raising livestock and farming. This rural area did not have access to the internet. This lack of access directly hinders people’s ability to take advantage of the educational and entrepreneurial opportunities available online. Understanding the changing world’s paradigm, and entrepreneurship opportunities, I decided to choose my own destiny and move to the city area. Like every other rebellion face, I was also criticized for choosing a different path but history knows “when there is a will, there is always a way.”
The challenges I faced:
I moved to Hasilpur Tehsil and passed the matriculation exam with distinctive marks. I got the laptop from the Government of Pakistan. This was the time when I started interacting with computer and tech gadgets and from here my love for computers and tech gadgets started. Because of this love for computers, I was even willing to work in a computer shop, but my friends and family were not allowing me to do this.
I decided to shift to Islamabad primarily for a brighter future and done 3 Years diploma in Computer Information Technology from Iqra College of Technology and got the first position in Computer Information Technology from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Board.
However, my passion and love for gadgets grew with age and I started exploring the world of graphics designing and programming. During my struggle, I came across Digiskills & Hisham Sarwar’s YouTube channel. Who had made all the difference – I have learned freelancing and I had to manage my own freelancing work to make my dreams come true. Along with this I also had support from my uncle who is a senior software engineer as helped me learn and upgrade the most in-demand skills in this field.
My breakthrough as a freelancer:
Success on Fiverr:
I created an account on Fiverr and started working as a graphics designer. I received the first order of my career of $5 only. Unfortunately, I forgot the pin of my Fiverr account and could not get those five dollars, but from that day onwards my work in the freelancing marketplace started. After that I designed and developed my portfolio (www.abdulmateen.net) then I joined different freelancing groups on Facebook where I started receiving orders. Further, realizing my potential and capabilities in the field of web designing and front-end development, I started receiving orders in these skills from my portfolio website and social media.
Success on Upwork:
Then I’ve been able to start bidding on Upwork since 2021 and have already earned nearly $2,000 in less than 5 months. I learned how to be a part of the growth that I want to create. Just like everyone else, I had to start from scratch. And no matter what roadblocks I faced, I knew I could always find an alternative way of achieving my goals.
Moreover, thanks to Almighty Allah, I am now earning six figures monthly income, by using my skills and abilities which I learned in a short period of 5 years.
Along with this, I got the opportunity to work with The Web Guru LLC (USA) and Grownix – Digital Marketing Company (Islamabad).
My never-ending pursuit of excellence and working passionately placed me as one of the top freelancers. I have worked with more than four hundred clients not only in Pakistan but also at the international level.
One of the biggest and most important facts is that according to my record to date no client has given me negative feedback, which I think is a great achievement for me. I have also mentioned these achievements on DigiSkills, the largest freelancing learning platform in Pakistan which is linked below:
Now, I am the CEO of the company “Peer Graphics” which I launched for freelancers having expertise in the field of creative designing and who want to work with both national and international brands. The ultimate goal of creating my own company is to help and motivate like-minded freelancers who know no boundaries when it comes to growth and learning.
It’s completely true! How did this happen? Opportunity, hard work, passion, and determination helped me get to where I am today. ALHAMDOLILLAH
