Hello, I am Muhammad Abdullah Arif. I work as a digital marketer for freelance marketplaces (Fiverr & Upwork). I got into this field after listening to Sir Hisham Sarwar’s freelancing interview *not sure of the year*. His interview had such an impact on me that I decided to work as a freelancer to supplement my income.
I got a bad intermediate grade:
September 2019 marks the start of my life-altering journey. After being dissatisfied with my intermediate results, I began looking for institutions, just like any other student, where I might study. It had always been my ambition to work as an electrical engineer. To be honest, I had no interest in the subject of information technology. I only played GTA Vice City or Spider Solitaire on my Core 2 Duo PC.
Enrolling in Digiskills:
Each of us is given opportunities in life. All we have to do now is keep our eyes open and be ready to act. One of my pals pops out of nowhere one day and informs me about Digiskills, the government of Pakistan’s free online skill training initiative.
It was November 2019 that Digiskills announced Batch 03 enrollments, and it was at that time that I first visited Digiskills LMS. I enrolled in Freelancing and Graphic Designing. I didn’t know anything about freelancing at the time. I began by studying Hisham Sarwar’s Freelancing course.I just got a feeling that there was something valuable there. I started looking into whether or not working from home is a viable option. Is it possible to make money working online? My main concern was whether or not what I saw on the internet was true.
Learning a computer skill:
This is due to the fact that I did not enrol in any university and was still looking for a job (this is not to say that a degree is not necessary or that it is a barrier; it is simply a misconception). I didn’t waste time whining about my prior performance. I made the decision to devote the entire three months to the training. I wanted to study the technique thoroughly. During this time, I was unconcerned about money. I knew that if I become successful, money would follow. I studied graphic design from another well-known online personality, Imran Ali Dina, as I started to freelance. “GFX Mentor” is the name of his YouTube channel.
When I asked a buddy for advice on how to acquire a new talent, he suggested I look at Imran’s YouTube channel. It was really worth it, and his teaching style influenced me much. I learnt a lot from my two online instructors.
First Success on Freelancer website:
My training at DigiSkills finished in February 2020, after that, I began my freelancing job on Fiverr and Upwork, where I received my first order for a logo. That order netted me Rs. 50. On my birthday, I gave myself a lovely present in honour of my first online money.
In the midst of Covid-19, SEO Expert has piqued my attention. I was once again confined to my home due to the lockdown scenario, with nothing to do. I re-enrolled in the Digiskills programme. This time, I decided to focus on SEO at IT Heights.
I am a member of my university’s IT Society, where I strive to encourage freelancing and technological progress. I built my first profile on a Fiverr website and earned money, but I also began to look into other freelancing platforms such as Upwork, Guru, Workchest, and Freelancer.com. Today, I’m on all of these platforms, bidding on these websites, and winning assignments.
Growing my internet presence:
I built a Facebook profile called “Abdullah Arif.” I began advertising it. I turned my personal page into a business called “DigitalMarketing Co.” I was not a business professional and had little experience with business techniques, but with the aid of my cousin brother Bilal Tariq, a business graduate from the University of Lahore, I was able to operate a firm without fear.
Conclusion:
I’ve got a long way to go. On the eve of this celebration, at the very least, I am living in the present with thankfulness, praising Almighty that my path to success continues to develop and that I am able to make a big impact in the world, at least as long as I am alive.
Alhamdulillah, I began fulfilling my goal at a young age. My commitment to always pushing my potential gave me the courage to tackle the challenges that arose along the way to achievement. People were telling me that the internet world was phoney, but I ignored them. Above all, I did not come to a halt.
