From Lockdown to Leadership | A journey of resilience, struggle and never giving up

My journey began in 2020, during one of the most uncertain times in modern history — the COVID-19 pandemic. Jobs were disappearing, businesses were shutting down, and fear was everywhere. The world felt like it had stopped, and the future was unclear. Like many others, I was searching for hope, direction, and a way forward. I knew I had to do something, but I didn’t know what. At that time, it felt like opportunities were vanishing, and I was unsure whether I would ever find my path.

That turning point came when a friend introduced me to Web Development. With no prior experience and very limited resources, I enrolled in the DigiSkills WordPress Web Development course, which was freely available on YouTube. I also followed the guidance of my mentor, Hisham Sarwar, who inspired me to think bigger and work smarter. What started as curiosity soon became commitment. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, and rebuilding myself through skills. I would stay up late at night, experimenting with WordPress features, building test websites, and trying to understand the logic behind every functionality. At that time, every small achievement felt like a victory and fueled my determination to keep going.

When Nothing Worked, I Didn’t Quit

In 2021, I took a bold step into freelancing with high hopes. I created profiles on Fiverr and Upwork, believing that this was my chance to start earning while doing what I loved. However, reality hit hard. Despite all my efforts, I failed to secure even a single project. Weeks went by with no response from clients, no feedback, and constant rejection. It was disheartening. There were moments when I questioned my own abilities and wondered if I had made a mistake. Rejections tested my patience and confidence, and I realized that motivation alone was not enough. What I truly needed was real-world experience, deeper knowledge, and disciplined practice.

Instead of giving up, I chose a different path — a path that focused on learning before earning.

Learning Before Earning

Later in 2021, I was offered a position as a WordPress Developer in a company. This role became my real training ground. Over the next three years, I immersed myself in WordPress development, learning every detail from scratch. I worked with all major WordPress builders, delivered real-world projects for clients, and understood the dynamics of professional teamwork. Each project I completed, each client feedback I received, was a lesson that shaped my skills and mindset.

My consistency and dedication paid off when I was promoted to Team Lead. This promotion was more than just a title — it was proof that hard work and perseverance always pay off. It gave me the confidence to think about bigger possibilities, including starting my own company.

Building the Dream

In 2023, I took the boldest step of my life and registered Sufix Tech LLC in the United States. I transitioned from being an employee to becoming a Founder & CEO, driven by a vision to build something meaningful and scalable. Where I once earned PKR 28,000 per month, today — Alhamdulillah — my company generates eight-figure to low nine-figure annual revenue, and it continues to grow steadily every year.

This journey taught me something invaluable: growth is a process, not an event. Every late night, every failed attempt, every small success was a step toward building something much bigger than I had imagined.

A Message for Dreamers

If there is one lesson I want to share, it is this:
Your starting point does not define your destination.

Failure is not a stop sign — it is a classroom. Skills change lives. Consistency beats talent when talent quits. If you are struggling today, remember that every expert was once a beginner. Every success story begins with a first step, no matter how small.

I am grateful not just for where I am today, but for the journey that shaped me. The challenges, the lessons, the late nights, and the small wins — they all taught me, strengthened me, and prepared me for this path. Alhamdulillah for every step.

Alhamdulillah for everything.
