In 2023, after completing my intermediate education, I joined DigiSkills as a content writing student. At just 18 years old, while many of my friends were enjoying their vacations, I chose to spend my time learning practical skills at a software house, CanvaSolutions Sargodha. At that point, I knew very little about the digital world, not even how websites were built.
During this period, I came across the term (Search Engine Optimisation). Curious to learn more, I started studying SEO on my own through YouTube. I completed a 75-video SEO course by WSCubeTech and created detailed notes for every lecture. That was the moment I decided to pursue a career in SEO.
However, I quickly realised that theoretical knowledge alone would not be enough. I needed practical experience, but I lacked the resources for paid training or internships. Around the same time, I enrolled in a BSIT degree program at the University of Sargodha. My father gave me a challenge: become capable of managing my own expenses within two years.
Determined to achieve this goal, I secured a summer internship as an SEO Intern at Softileo Sargodha. There, I learned SEO fundamentals, WordPress, website management, and client work. I also built my own blog and started taking on remote SEO content-writing projects with my manager’s support.
At the age of 19, I earned my first income, 3,000 PKR for writing homepage content. Although I completed several content writing projects, I soon realised that my true interest was SEO. I decided to focus all my efforts on becoming an SEO professional.
I continued learning and eventually started working as an SEO Expert in the same company. Balancing university and work was challenging. I attended classes in the morning and worked in the office during the afternoon, often staying beyond office hours to learn more.
One of the biggest challenges came when my laptop stopped working. It had been a gift from my mother after matriculation, and repairing it was not an option. Since I could not afford a replacement, I used my mentor’s MacBook whenever possible and continued working on remote SEO projects. I saved every rupee I earned intending to buy a new laptop.
In 2025, I achieved that goal and purchased a laptop worth 70,000 PKR using my own earnings. It was one of the most rewarding milestones of my journey.
Later, I joined a new digital marketing company, Next Click Sargodha, where my mentor was a co-founder. There, I expanded my skills by working on business websites and managing SEO campaigns. I started attending meetings with international clients, which significantly improved my communication and professional skills.
One of my proudest achievements came in 2026 when I paid my university semester fee myself, Alhamdulillah. It was a moment that proved I had fulfilled the challenge my father gave me years earlier.
Today, I have my own website, work with clients confidently, and continue to improve my expertise in SEO and digital marketing while completing my degree. Looking back, I feel successful because I turned a simple curiosity about SEO into a professional career. My journey is still ongoing, and after graduation, I hope to secure a high-level position in the industry, backed by more than three years of practical SEO experience.
